Day of Prayer for Revere:   August 16th

City of Revere Contact:

Points of Interest:
1) Revere is the location of the first Public Beach in the United States, more than three miles long, and with a rich history  https://reverebeach.com/
2) Revere is one of the 26 Gateway Cities in Massachusetts, home to many cultures
    https://massinc.org/our-work/policy-center/gateway-cities/about-the-gateway-cities/
3) First Congregational Church in Revere has been coordinating a week-long multi-church Christian evangelistic event on Revere Beach since 2008.  Reach-the-Beach coordinates with Christian churches, organizations, musicians, evangelists, and individuals to provide an opportunity for beach goers to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ in a number of ways.  A couple of years before Covid, after Pastor Jared Mlongecha preached at the event, a police officer working the event let us know that he had received Jesus while Pastor Mlongecha was preaching.  The event also ministers to the poor and homeless that are at the beach.  See more information below.

Prayer Points:
1) For revival in Revere, and that Christians would commit themselves to being living sacrifices for God, according to Romans 12:1-2
2) For strength and unity among area Christian churches in prayer, worship, faithfulness to the Word of God, and in service to the approximately 52,253 Revere residents
3) For the Christian churches to stay strong in this season, with a continuing focus to reach their communities with the Gospel
4) For the Body of Christ to pray for the people in Revere, and that they would turn to God for all their needs
5) That the power and purity of the Gospel being preached would be received and transform the hearts and lives of the people in Revere
6) For the softening of the hearts of the people in Revere in response to the Holy Spirit and the Gospel of Jesus Christ
7) For all city officials, especially Acting Mayor Patrick M. Keefe Jr., Chief of Police David Callahan, and the entire Police Department
8) For families, schools, businesses, organizations, and  churches, as they continue to transition out of Covid restrictions, and for those struggling with a lot of fear in these transitions
